The Government has today published its new cross-government strategy, Freedom from Violence and Abuse, setting out the ambition to halve violence against women and girls within a decade. The strategy is long awaited and focuses on three key areas: prevention and tackling root causes, pursuing perpetrators and improving support for victims and survivors. It emphasises early intervention, multi-agency working and trauma-informed, victim-centred services.
