Over 45 representatives from agencies throughout Warwickshire attended the successful launch of a new Warwickshire Against Domestic Abuse talk2someone campaign on 3 June.
The aim of the campaign is to encourage victims to talk to someone they trust by increasing the information and support available to victims, their friends and family, young people and to abusers. This is being done by the creation of a new website www.talk2someone.org.uk and a Freephone helpline 0800 408 1552*
Agencies demonstrating their support by attending the campaign included the NHS, refuges, Drug and Alcohol Action Team, Victim Support, Swanswell Trust, WDVSS, National Children's Homes, County, borough and district councils, Crown Prosecution Service and Warwickshire Police.
Dee Lytton, Area Manager of Victim Support Warwickshire speaking on behalf of victim support services in Warwickshire said:
"By working together as Warwickshire Against Domestic Abuse we hope that victims can feel more confident in coming forward to seek information, advice or help. Victims, friends and family and all those affected by domestic abuse now have more ways than ever of finding out about the full range of services available to support them."
