Diana Anti-bullying Award: Working to recognise the achievements of young people who are tackling bullying!
Following my letter sent a few weeks ago, I would like to encourage you to support the Diana Anti-Bullying Award in your local authority. The Award is committed to;
• Dissemination of good practice – The Award reports back to all sectors including DCSF, MPs, Schools and Organisations about good practice.
• Awards Ceremonies and showcases – These will be held to provide the opportunity for schools and organisations to showcase their anti-bullying initiatives and Award Holders to have their achievements celebrated by receiving their Award at a prestigious ceremony.
• Young ABA - All Diana Anti-Bullying Award holders and nominating schools will become members of Young ABA. Young ABA aims to ensure young people’s voices are heard in all areas of anti-bullying work.
• Fulfilling the Government’s aims for every child, particularly embracing; participation, enjoyment, achievement and attainment.
I have attached a sample nomination form; I would be grateful if you could let me know of any additional forms you may need for schools and youth groups in your authority. You can contact me on 0207 785 3840 me at dora.nana@diana-award.org.uk.
The deadline for completed nominations will be 14th November 2008.
I look forward to hearing from you shortly,
With Very Best Wishes
